Delight in this heavy and luxurious sold gold Art Nouveau necklace. Weighing in at a respectable 23 grams, it has strong and sturdy links which will be able to accompany you for many years to come. It is amazing to think of each small piece of gold being delicately wrought and then soldered together to create this masterpiece. Once adorning the neck of a very fashionable high society woman long ago, it would now make the perfect accent necklace for a wedding or holiday party. It features three, large navette links which are framed by geometric teardrop shapes and filled with interior filigree and intricate floral designs. This style showcases the craftsmanship of the era with most minute details visible on the tiny floral centers. One of my personal favorite dramatic elements of the time is the additional security chain, which adds an extra layer of elegance. It is a unique addition to any collection which will be sure to become a treasured favorite due to its exquisite beauty and unique design.
CONDITION NOTES:
The necklace is known as a 'ras du cou' as it skims the collar bone below the neckline like a choker necklace. The links have been inspected and are strong and in good condition while the main spring ring is an replacement with good tension and alignment. There is no missing filigree and the sapphires are well secured.
