Thick and heavy unique long guard chain with very unique twisted oval interlocking links. Really beautifully decorated and in excellent condition despite its age. It is getting harder to find full length long guard chains as they have often been divided with time to make smaller necklaces. While the hallmark has been too worn by time to be legible, the chain has been acid tested for at least 900 silver purity. The hanging bolt ring can be used to clip a pendant or locket and the necklace is long enough to wrap two or three times over heard. A lovely example of Victorian silver work, it is in very good condition with links that are strong.
