Vintage 9k Gold Locket, Mid-Century English Locket with Floral engraving

This simple and charming locket is hallmarked as 'front and back' 9k gold. Popular from the Victorian period up until the mid-20th century, this was a popular technique to create a locket with a quality gold content but a metal frame to increase affordability. This one is a very buttery gold with a lovely engraved floral design. While one metal frame has been lost to time, the other remains, as well as an original photo. The back is smooth, save for a hallmark. It doesn't close with a snap but does not open when worn and stays shut even when shaken. Sweet and sentimental, it is very wearable and makes a great every day piece.
