Vintage Gold Filled Art Deco Earrings with Sapphire Paste, c. 1930

Vintage Gold Filled Art Deco Earrings with Sapphire Paste, c. 1930

These lovely, little Art Deco earrings feature an elongated diamond design which is centered by a sapphire paste stone. Paste was frequently used as a substitute to imitate rare and expensive gemstones and was often made of cut glass. The earrings are crafted from thick and high quality gold fill. They close in a style popular in France in this time period in which the earring hinge threads through the back of the ear and attaches at a rivet at the top of the earring. The hinges are in good condition and the closure is secure. There are some areas of gold fill loss to the back of the earrings, visible in photos, but not visible when worn. A very lovely piece which would make a great 'something old' or for any lover of Art Deco style.

Material: Gold Fill, sapphire paste (imitation sapphire cut from glass)
